A school shouldnโt be

Digital Divide
Hold on to your floppy disks, because this is a real shocker.
It turns out that in this day and age, when your smartphone can tell you the weather in Timbuktu and your fridge can text you when you're running low on milk, there are schools out there that are as technologically advanced as a butter churn.
Thatโs the injustice that Verizon wanted to expose while providing free technology, access, and hand-on learning to schools in disadvantaged areas across the United States.
Enter, โWithout a Net: The Digital Divide in Americaโ a documentary directed by Rory Kennedy and voiced over by Jamie Foxx that highlights the issue.
We partnered with National Geographic for the debut of the film, along with hosting a cameo at the New York Film Festival.
Meredith Viera, who you recognize from your television screen, sat down with Rory Kennedy where they dove into the struggles of disadvantaged youth whose entire lives are affected by the digital divide.
So, whether youโre a tech guru or youโre simply trying to figure out why your microwave has so many buttons, thereโs a role for you in this story. Awareness being the first.
